Where to get the best Vietnamese food in the Sydney Hills district.

A time saving article to highlight where to get the best Vietnamese food in the Sydney Hills district.

Isn't Vietnamese cuisine totally the best? (It's like pizza) - Even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good! Has there ever been a time you bought a Banh Mi and then thought to yourself “Gee I wish I’d bought a foccacia?" Hell no. And no matter what or where the Pho is from, every bowl ends with me picking my way through the broth with chopsticks trying to fish out every last lurking rice noodle scrap.

But if you're looking for THE best Vietnamese food in the Sydney Hills, or if you’re just looking for a place to start, here is my top list of the absolute go to places that those in the know flock to.

Best Banh Mi - XO Rolls

Hands down the best Banh Mi (or Vietnamese Baguettes) in the hills. Known for its crusty bread, generous tasty fillings, home made pate these banh mi are the go to for office workers and local residents alike. The proprietor, Lien, like her coffee, never fails to provide a morning pick-me-up for her customers. A beautifully open and welcoming café located in the office precinct in Lexington Drive, Bella Vista the site has ample parking for a quick hit and run lunch. Other specialties include their rice paper rolls and Pho noodle soups.

Best Pho - Nuance Food

Nestled in the industrial zone on Carrington Road, this Vietnamese caterer is famous for broth so good you can drink it! Featuring a 24 hour bone broth that's good enough to drink, the Pho is so good these caterers are supplying to many restaurants throughout Sydney. If you are looking to dine in at home, Dylan and Theresa offer a weekly dinner pickup/delivery service featuring their most popular dishes as well as stunningly presented party dishes and grazing tables.

Best Vietnamese Restaurant - My Hao

For all your Vietnamese favourites in a cosy sit down environment, Cam has run this well loved local for years in the Higglety Pigglety shops in Winston Hills. It’s an authentic experience as if a slice of Cabramatta has been transplanted into the Hills. If it's a family run environment and a variety of traditionally presented dishes you’re after, grab your friends and book a table. We love the Grilled pork and Spring rolls with vermicelli (Bun Thit Nuong) as well as the Crispy Chicken with Egg Noodles. (Ga da Gion)

Best Food court Eatery - Saigon Phoever

If you’re out shopping in Castle Towers,it’s worth popping across to Castle Mall and checking out this great little eatery. The mall is a bit of a not-so-hidden - gem where (if you can excuse my political incorrectness - all the Asians go for their asian food fix. Fast, delicious and with all the trimmings, Saigon Phoever smashes out authentic dishes in minutes. And they get bonus points for punning their name. The style is reminiscent of the Chinatown food courts or even those in Vietnam and the food is equally satisfying. Checkout the other stores in the mall while you’re over there – asian groceries, butchers and fishmongers among our favourites.

Any others?

If you know a place that is so tucked away that we've missed it, or something fantastic that's just opened, please let me know and I'll gladly do a taste test! It's a tough life :)
